Whenever you add a domain as hosted in some account, you typically set a pair of Name Servers to point it to that particular service provider. On their end, three records are created automatically right after the Internet domain is added - one A record and two MX records. The first one is a numeric address, or IP address, which “tells” the Internet domain where its website is, while the other two are alphanumeric and they indicate the server that manages the e-mails for that specific domain. The website and the e-mail hosting are often regarded as one thing, while they are in reality two different services. Having separate records for them will allow you to have them with different providers if you would like. As an example, some new provider may have superb uptime for your site, but you may not want to switch your e-mails from your current host and by employing an A record to point the domain name to the first and MX records to have the e-mails with the second, you will get the best of both companies. These records are checked whenever you want to open a site or send an e-mail - in either case, the provider whose name servers are used for the Internet domain will be contacted to retrieve the A and MX records and if you've set records different from their own, the right web/mail server will then be contacted and you'll see the needed site or your e-mail is going to be delivered.

Custom MX and A Records in Cloud Hosting

If you have a Linux cloud hosting from our company, you are going to be able to see, create and modify any A or MX record for your Internet addresses. Assuming that a given domain has our Name Servers, you will be able to modify specific records via our Hepsia hosting CP and have your site or emails pointed to any other service provider if you'd like to use only one of our services. Our innovative tool will permit you to have a domain address hosted here and a subdomain below it to be hosted elsewhere by modifying only its A record - this will not affect the main domain the slightest bit. If you decide to use the e-mail services of another provider and they want you to create more than two MX records, you can easily do it with only a couple of mouse clicks in the DNS Records section of your CP. You can even set different latency for every MX record i.e. which one will have priority.

Custom MX and A Records in Semi-dedicated Hosting

Accessing and modifying the A or MX records for any one of your domain names or subdomains is really easy if you purchase a semi-dedicated server plan through our company. The accounts are handled through our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel, which has a section devoted to the DNS records of your domain addresses. The latter will be listed alphabetically and you can click on any of them to see both the A and the MX records. Modifying any record is as simple as entering the new one in a text box and saving the change, so even when you have never dealt with such matters before, you will not experience any problems if you want to direct your site or emails to a different service provider while keeping the second service with our company. If required, you may also set up additional MX records and set a certain priority in accordance with the instructions of the new provider.
